MISSIONARY ROSEBUSHES OF SAINT THERESE Minimize

The Missionary Rosebushes of Saint Therese was established in 1922 by a young Manchester woman named Irene Farley.

Miss Farley contracted tuberculosis and prayed to the "Little Flower" for a cure.  She promised St. Therese that if she were granted a miracle by her powerful intercession, in turn she would dedicate the rest of her life to assisting with the education of young men in Third World countries to realize their dream of becoming priests.

Miss Farley was miraculously cured!  She indeed kept her promise and founded the Missionary Rosebushes of Saint Therese.  Upon the death of Miss Farley in 1972, this missionary apostolate was taken over by the Diocese of Manchester.  Bishop Ernest J. Primeau wishing this organization to continue, entrusted the work to the Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood.

To date, over 3000 priests have been ordained, 11 have been consecrated bishops.  All because of the scholarships provided for their education through the Missionary Rosebushes of Saint Therese.

For the past 87 years a total of 3800 scholarships have been sent to Mission Countries such as:

Central and South America; Africa; India; Sri Lanka; Taiwan; Thailand; Philippines; Indonesia; Madagascar; New Guinea; Pacific Islands; Haiti and French Polynesia.
