Mother Catherine Aurelia Caouette

TO ADORE, TO SUFFER, TO REPAIR

Mother Catherine Aurelia of the Precious Blood, established the first cloistered, contemplative order of religious in Canada.

Born Aurelia Caouette on July 11, 1833 in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada.  From her youth she was greatly attracted at the Passion of Our Lord.

God, who had chosen and predestined this humble young girl for a great and sublime mission, poured into her privledged soul the divine treasures of His Infinite love and eternal mercies.  He inspired her with the belief that she was called by Him to found a religious community of adoration and reparation to the honor and glory of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

The second American foundation of her Institute was established in Manchester, New Hampshire on December 8, 1898.

Beatification Prayer Minimize

Precious Blood, life and love of the Heart of Jesus, which flows as the supreme expression of His tender love for all. Blood shed in suffering and ignominy, with an inexpressible charity, I love You, I praise You, and I adore You with the most profound sentiments of gratitude!

In the name of this Precious Blood, I beseech You, O Jesus to listen to my prayer for the beatification of Your humble servant, Catherine Aurelia of the Precious Blood, whose whole life was a hymn of praise and love, a sacrifice of reparation to Your Sacred Blood, the august price of our redemption.

To labor by prayer and penance for the conversion of a sinful world, to obtain grace and pardon for poor sinners by cleansing them in the regenerating bath of Your Divine Blood; to enkindle in all hearts the holy flame of love by which she herself was entirely consumed..such was the sole ambition of the heart of Catherine Aurelia.

O, Divine Redeemer, glorify your faithful Adorer, Catherine Aurelia, by the solemn judgment of the Church, which will place her among the Blessed.
